3D Printing @ FHC (WORK IN PROGRESS)

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Ensure the printer is plugged in and is powered
  2. Check Filament:
    1. Check to make sure there is sufficient filament for your print, and is the color you'd like.
  3. Prepare Your File:
    • Ask a librarian, or someone on the Support Team for the 3D printing laptop, and ask them to login for you.
    • (if applicable) Download your file from Thingiverse, and place it into the 3D Files folder on the desktop.
    • YOU MUST rename the file firstname.lastname.item.stl,
      for example; john.doe.cupholder.stl
    • Slice your 3D model in Ultimaker Cura with the correct profile for which printer you'd like to use. Check that the core is correctly selected for what filament you'd like.
    • Have a Librarian, or someone on the Support Team check to ensure things are set correctly.
    • Save to USB or send via network (if you have access).
  4. Start Printing: Insert the USB stick and select your file, then press Print.
  5. After Printing: Wait for the bed to cool. Remove the build plate glass if needed and carefully detach the part. You can leave the printer on for the next person who'd like to use it.
